This MedTech client wanted to develop a patient app and use this project to polish their UX skills and dive into agile development. I was invited to consult on the UX and UI part of this endeavor.

Kick-off Workshop

I planned a kick-off workshop to align the vision, project roadmap, and R&R (roles and responsibilities) of the project. I also analysed the business and user requirements.

In this session, I provided an overview over user centred design methods, followed by a practical exercise “The One-Hour Design Process”

Research Phase

The client had already conducted extensive user research -qualitative and quantitative- as part of a master thesis which enabled us to develop four user profiles to capture their thoughts and needs.

I designed A3 Posters with the user profiles which the team hung up in their workspace to get to know their users and keep being reminded of their needs and motivation.

Concepting

I explored ideas and interactions with quick sketches and evaluated those with the team. The next iteration of UI was digital (Adobe Xd) and tested with users.

Final Report

I summarised all findings in a 60-page long report that included:

  • Feature List
  • Sitemap
  • Annotated Wireframes
  • User Profiles
  • User Journeys
  • Content Audit
  • Best Practice App Design
